What is Taga, really?
In 66 words, Taga is a multifunctional vehicle for parents and children that combines the benefits of a cargo bike and a premium stroller. Taga enable parents to spend quality time with their children while they ride with confidence and get a great workout. In seconds, Taga transforms from a super fun, safe and maneuverable bicycle into a stroller that easily navigates stores, board trains and slides into elevators.
How on earth does Taga convert from a stroller to a bike?
The short answer is Taga’s patented conversion mechanism. The long answer is that this mechanism enables Taga to be converted from bike mode to stroller mode and vice versa in 20 seconds and 4 easy steps: remove the child seat, lower the saddle, flip the rear frame and reinstall the child seat again. How safe is it to ride Taga?
Taga gives you a stable ride that is actually safer than the one you get riding a regular bike with a child bike seat. Why, you ask? Taga’s special 3-wheel structure and innate safety features. Plus it’s safer to ride than a bike with a bicycle trailer because you can watch your child at all times. Taga spent years of development ensuring that every safety aspect is taken care of. When do children generally outgrow Taga?
In bike mode, Taga’s child seat is suitable for children weighing up to 25 kg/ 55 lbs (5-6 years). In stroller mode, it is suitable for children weighing up to 15 kg/ 33 lbs (3-4 years).
How old should my child be before I can start strolling with Taga?
With the car seat adapter, you can begin strolling with your child on smooth terrain from the time they are newborn. With the Taga Standard Child Seat, you can start strolling with your child from the age of 6 months.
How old should my child be before I can try them out in bike mode?
Before riding with your child in bike mode, we strongly recommend waiting until your child is a year old and able to sit up on their own without support. We also recommend that a child always wear a properly-fitted helmet when riding in bike mode. These recommendations comply with industry-wide standards for North America.
Do I have to know how to ride a regular bicycle to ride a Taga?
Not necessarily. Taga’s 3-wheeled structure makes it easy to learn to ride even for those who do not know how to ride a regular bicycle. And anyone who does know how to ride a bike will take to it immediately.

Taga parts are manufactured and assembled in Taiwan, while the fabric parts are manufactured in China. Rest assured, we operate an advanced quality assurance process throughout our production lines and our entire supply chain to ensure the highest quality production standards.

Why is Taga heavier than a regular stroller?
As opposed to a standard stroller that carries a child, Taga is a bike that has to carry an adult and up to two children. It carries heavier loads and travels at higher speeds, so its frame has to be thicker and thus heavier.
That said, Taga is designed to be easy to wrangle. If you need to store it in a car, Taga can be separated to 3 parts with a maximum weight of 10kg/22 lbs each. And the large wheels make it easy to ascend stairs, which compensates for the extra weight.
Taga weighs about the same as a regular city bike with a child seat. And is lighter when you compare it to other cargo bikes which weigh-in at about 35-45kg/77-99lbs.
Why does Taga come with a weight in the basket?
The extra weight, which is located at the bottom of the basket, is meant to lower the center of gravity and to help you get used to riding Taga. After you get acclimated to riding Taga, you may safely remove it.
Can I use the Taga child seat in my car?
No. The Taga’s child seat is not designed for that purpose. We advise you to use a car seat instead. However, you can use a car seat with Taga provided it is one of several models for which we make adapters.
What are the key advantages of Taga compared to a regular bike with a child bike seat?
Bonding: With a regular child bike seat, your child typically sits behind you. With Taga, your little one rides right between your arms. Sitting in the Taga seat allows your child to enjoy the scenery while enabling you to see and communicate with each other along the way.
Safety: Taga’s three-wheeled design is considered more stable than an ordinary bicycle equipped with a child bike seat. That makes Taga safer to ride with kids. Taga always stands on its 3 wheels, so there’s no risk of your child falling when you’re putting them on or taking them off Taga. And if you should ever hit a curb or a hole in the road, the added stability can help you maintain your balance. With a regular bike, you need to gain speed in order to balance yourself. Not with Taga. However, as with any bike, you need to be careful when riding fast with kids and you need to slow down before going downhill or turning. Another safety advantage of Taga compared to regular bikes is that children’s feet are protected from the spokes.
Child Comfort: The Taga child seat is ergonomically designed to maximize your child’s comfort. It has a strong aluminum frame, soft foam and extra soft head cushioning (just in case anyone gets sleepy). Plus your child has a bar to hold onto and special armrests, which accommodate handy side bags. To ensure your child’s comfort, the child seat comes with a sun canopy. A rain cover can be added as well.
Continuity: Unlike a regular bike, you can transform Taga into a stroller and take it with you into the building when you reach your destination. That means you don’t need to lock anything up or leave anything behind that might be exposed to the elements. Your child can stay right there in their seat. Taga can also be taken on public transportation, where in most cases bikes aren’t allowed or require additional fare. And with Taga, once you arrive, you can toggle back to bike mode for the ride to your final destination.
What are the key advantages of Taga compared to a bike trailer?
Bonding: With Taga, your little one rides right between your arms. In a bike trailer, your child is far behind you, so you can’t share the things you experience along the way.
Safety: With an ordinary trailer, it is easy to miscalculate your turning radius and how wide the trailer really is, which can make you hit curbs and other things. With Taga, the widest part of the vehicle is in front where you can see it, so it’s easier to judge your turns. And with Taga, there are no backward glances to check on your passenger. You can keep your eyes facing forward.
Child Comfort: When you’re riding a bike pulling a trailer, you don’t realize the cloud of dust and gravel you make. Even when the road is relatively clean or you have fenders, you end up shooting stuff onto your passengers. It gets even worse when there’s rain or when the trail is gravelly. With Taga, your child is above it all—right next to you.
Continuity: A lot of times when you arrive at your destination riding a bike with a trailer, you have to worry about locking it up outside. Not so with Taga. Upon reaching your destination, you can transform your Taga into a stroller and just take it into the building with you. No need to lock anything up or leave any parts behind where they might get rained on. And if your child falls asleep while riding Taga in bike mode, they can continue to doze in stroller mode. Lastly, Taga can also be taken on public transportation as a stroller, but bikes with trailers are often not allowed or require additional fare.
How does Taga ride compared to a regular bicycle?
Tricycles, including Taga, handle differently than bicycles.
Conventional bicycles are inherently unstable. The rider has to gain speed in order to balance the bike. Then when making a turn, the rider leans the bicycle and their body into the turn, to counter the centrifugal force.
In contrast, tricycles are inherently stable when stationary or in low-to-mid speeds. However, when turning in higher speeds, tricycles are subject to centrifugal force and if not ridden carefully may tip. Since tricycles cannot lean, the rider has to slow down before the turn and lean their body into the turn, to counter the centrifugal force.
Taga’s steering was developed by professional bicycle and tricycle engineers who took a multitude of factors into account to ensure the safest and best possible riding experience. That includes tricycle steering geometry based on the Ackerman Law, optimized wheel trail, optimized center of gravity and more. As a result, the steering is exceptionally smooth and easy to use.
Ultimately safety is your responsibility as a parent. We strongly recommend that you ride Taga carefully with your children. Don’t take sharp turns at high speeds and don’t use Taga for racing or for off-road cycling. Ride Taga several times before you use it with your children to get used to the steering and handling.
How does Taga handle compared to regular strollers?
Similar to the front wheel of a jogging stroller, Taga’s front wheel in strolling mode doesn’t swivel (in conventional strollers, the front wheels swivel). To turn the stroller you push slightly down on the handles so the front wheel lifts up and the stroller will turn (same as in jogging stroller). You should also push the handles down when pulling Taga backward.

Taga has one chassis model and many accessories. The basic configuration includes the chassis, main child seat, sun canopy and underseat basket. The chassis color is silver and the child seat is available in 4 different colors. Can I ride with two kids on Taga?
Yes. We offer two solutions for riding with two kids:
A. Second Child Seat - attached to the back of the main child seat to create one unit with two seats. The front seat (Taga’s Standard Child Seat) is suitable up to 5-6 years old while the rear seat (Taga’s Second Child Seat) is suitable up to 3-4 years old. B. Double Wooden Seat - enables 2 kids to sit across from each other. The Wooden Double Seat is safety harness-equipped and is suitable for 2 kids from one year to 4-7 years old. Please visit our accessories section for more information.
Can I carry one child in a car seat and another in Taga’s Standard Child Seat?
No, the only configurations for two children are shown above.
Where can I stow my belongings while using Taga?
Taga arrives with a storage basket located under the Standard Child Seat.
You can hang your Mommy bag on the handle behind the child seat.

Usage
Can I fit Taga in my car trunk?
Yes, Taga can be folded in less than a minute to fit in the trunk of a family car or sedan.
Can I put Taga on a bike rack?
Yes, Taga can be carried on a standard bike rack.
Are the seats washable?
Yes, Taga’s child seat and hood fabrics are easy to remove and can be washed, preferably by hand but also in a washing machine. Do not tumble dry. For detailed washing instructions, please check the label on the fabric.
Are helmets required to ride Taga?
The makers of Taga urge you to use a bicycle helmet for yourself and your child when riding Taga. In some countries, it is required by law. It is the parent’s responsibility to be familiar with and follow the law in the country where you ride.
Can I ride Taga without the child seat?
We strongly recommend that one of Taga’s main accessories (child seat, car seat adapter, double wooden seat or shopping basket) be attached to Taga while you ride. Please note that riding without a child affects the steering. Please see the “Taga handling” FAQ.
Can I take off the seat with my child in it?
Yes. The child seat has a support stand which enables the child seat to stand on its own on the ground while the parent toggles between modes. When using the Second Child Seat or Wooden Double Seat, you must remove your children before taking the seat unit off.
How many reclining positions does the Taga seat have?
The Taga has two seating positions, one reclining position and one seated position.
How do I attach accessories to my Taga?
Most accessories can be attached to Taga in seconds using our patent pending unique quick release mechanism. Our accessories come with a user guide, which shows you how to attach the accessory to your Taga.
Can a grandparent like me ride Taga?
Of course. In fact, many of our customers worldwide are grandparents who are looking to enrich their quality time with their grandchildren or grandparents who are using Taga with the shopping basket. Taga’s 3-wheeled design and safety features provide stability and let you ride with confidence.
What type of terrain is best for Taga?
Taga provides the best riding experience when used on paved roads like bike lanes, sidewalks or pathways.
Will Taga fit through my doorway?
Although there is no standard measurement for doorways in most countries, Taga fits through most doors. If you are not sure about the doors or elevator entrances you commonly use, we advise measuring them to make sure Taga fits. Taga’s width is 73cm/28.7inches.
Can I take Taga on public transportation?
Of course. It’s one of the biggest advantages of Taga and the reason it is so eco friendly. You can take Taga on public transportation as a stroller and then can ride in bike mode to your final destination.
Can I take Taga on an airplane?
When traveling with kids, most airlines enable passengers to take their stroller all the way up to the exit gate. There it is folded and loaded by the ground crew. We recommend that you check with your airline to see if they have any restrictions regarding strollers.

How long does it take to assemble Taga when it arrives?
Assembling Taga takes about an hour and requires no special skills or tools.
What kind of tools do I need to assemble my Taga?
Non-assembled, Taga requires a Philips screwdriver and pliers in addition to the provided Allen keys.
What kind of preventive maintenance do you recommend?
Typical maintenance activities for Taga are the same as they are with regular bikes and include: cleaning, inflating the tires, adjusting the brakes, etc.
What is the recommended tire pressure for Taga?
The recommended tire pressure for Taga is 60 PSI. The pressure range as indicates by the tire manufacturer is Min 40 - Max 65 PSI.

How long is my warranty valid and what does it cover?
Taga offers a 2-year limited warranty on most of the Taga parts. There is a 2-year limited warranty on frame and gear against manufacturer’s defects. The fabrics, brake pads, tires and cables are covered for one year after the original date of purchase for manufacturer’s defects. The warranty does not include natural wear and tear such as flat tires and brake adjustments. This warranty is only valid to the original purchaser.
How do I get my Taga repaired?
If you encounter any problems with your Taga, we will provide you with repair sets or replacement parts that have been thoroughly tested and can be easily assembled with or without instructions. Taga does not have its own repair centers.
